Gesink BV won and received the Lean & Green Award from the Sustainable Logistics Connektprogram on 19 May 2011 in Delft.
This prize is awarded annually to organizations that strive to make their logistics processes more sustainable. Mr. S. Keuter received the Award on behalf of Gesink Lean & Green Ltd Connekt presented by CEO, Mr.. Leo van Wijk.
The Sustainable Logistics Program supports leading companies in the area of sustainable goods logistics. Operator of the program is Connekt, an independent network of companies and governments that work together on the lasting improvement of mobility in the Netherlands. Front runners are companies in the network of shippers, carriers and municipalities in the Netherlands, who commit to the objectives of the program Sustainable Logistics, reducing the CO2 emissions by a minimum of 20% in 2012/2013 while increasing profitability. It encourages businesses to grow to a higher level of sustainability, by taking those measures which not only gain cost savings but reduce environmental impact at the same time. The use of cleaner engines
(
Euro 5 / 6) and the "new driving" are part of the savings.
Within Gesink Ltd, we are aware that sustainability has become an important factor in the entire supply chain. Gesink Ltd wishes to make her "bit" contributions. Perhaps this will seem positive, and will other parties within the supply chain think about. In this way, within the transport and logistics sector a considerable potential savings can be achieved.
Gesink BV joins, by achieving the Award, the 250 group leaders the Netherlands.
